BIG THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES
Feature Article on Diana J. Limjoco (Limhoko) Pollard
Tucson, Arizona is very fortunate indeed, as it welcomes the arrival of its newest snowbird Diana J. Limjoco Pollard. Although petite in stature ( 4’10”) this Scion of an affluent Patrician family (www.limjoco.net) in Batangas, Philippines soars with power! Her parents were entrepreneurs and they exposed Diana to the many levels of running diverse businesses at a very young age. Now, at 57, Diana makes a huge impact wherever she goes. She attributes her (g r e a t ? ) attitude to her family’s basic good values, philanthropic focus and history/legacy of civil minded ancestors.
In 1967, Diana moved to the “flower power” city of San Francisco to study fashion design. By 1969 she joined her parents who had moved to Los Angeles. In the mid-seventies, Diana met Jacques Cousteau, with whom she worked closely for the Cousteau Society’s First Involvement Day – one of the first and most significant events of that time to teach how we were polluting our oceans. Throughout the ‘70’s Diana was basically a Hollywood housewife who, in between hobnobbing with many of the entertainment industry’s eccentric and elite, engaged in a variety of charitable causes.

During the 80’s and 90’s, Diana and Tony Pollard (her husband at the time – who is still her best friend) lived mostly in northern California - in and around the gloriously beautiful area of Mt. Shasta where the focus of their lives was the study and enjoyment of nature, herbs, gardening, hunting and fishing, cooking, photography and pets.
In 2002, just before she left Mt. Shasta City, Diana was honored by the Mayor, Marge Apperson, with an award for her exemplary community involvement. Foremost among her accomplishments was the further unification of the fragmented towns in the beautiful Mt. Shasta mountain area by the persuading the Mt. Shasta City Council to share the local public access television channel, Channel 15, to serve community needs rather than to solely serve government intentions. First, Diana chose a Board of Directors; next, she and her husband at the time, Tony Pollard, funded the station for three years; and lastly, Diana created a non-profit organization to manage the station. She also created, produced and hosted a weekly show called “MCTV15 REAL-TV”, which has become a local county staple in its popularity. MCTV Channel 15 now broadcasts in 4 towns and will soon operate out of nearby College of the Siskiyous, which was exactly what Diana had originally envisioned. Diana also created the Mt. Shasta City Website as a public service, thus putting the city of Mt. Shasta on the worldwide web.

Diana was instrumental in saving Mt. Shasta’s 45 year-old tradition of 4th of July Fireworks. The results of her tireless work to raise money and community awareness regarding this family-gathering tradition were amazingly successful. A grateful city was left with a reduced fee from the fireworks supplier, a surplus of funds for next year and a return to great enjoyment and celebration of that all-American holiday. Diana was given an award form the Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce for enhancing community vitality. Although Diana is now living in Tucson, she continues to maintain a summer house in the alpine town of Mt. Shasta, California.
In August of 2003 Diana and her partner, Dave Dewbre (“dew-brae”), formed Digital Web group, Inc. She is president and C.F.O. of their Web Division. The company also operates retail store online at www.siliconeworks.com and www.nubra.net - to name a couple. They continue to create new business ventures and to have fun adventures together. Diana and Dave just returned from a 2-1/2 month business-mixed-with-pleasure trip to China and the Philippines, seeking new products and markets. She now lives in beautiful Subic Bay Freeport in the Philippines and runs her company from there.
A true internet success story and an inspiration to us all, Digital Web group, Inc. has online stores that sell everything from Unbar self-adhesive bras (a pioneer in that business!) to external motorcycle speaker kits! They could write the book on how to make money on the internet with their large EBay auction, EBay Consignment divisions and their online retail stores. Digital Webgroup,Inc. has expanded their warehouses to ship from Georgia, Arizona, Florida and North Carolina.
